Charging Guide
Where to Charge
Always charge in a safe, dry area indoors, preferably between 50°F and 77°F, and away from direct sunlight, dirt, or debris. Ensure that your bike, battery, and charger are arranged in a way that eliminates the potential for trip hazards or any damage.
When to Charge
Upon arrival, a new battery should have a charge between 50% and 75%. Once the bike is assembled and verified as safe by a certified local bike mechanic, you can ride it immediately without charging. After the first ride, whether it's a new bike or one with a new battery, it should undergo the battery charging process mentioned in the Balancing Guide section. We recommend fully charging the battery after each ride to ensure it powers your entire range on your next Viribus ride!
How Long to Charge
Charging the battery from empty to full typically takes 3–7 hours. The charging time varies based on factors like distance traveled, riding characteristics, terrain, payload, and battery age.
Balancing Guide
First Ride
Ride the bike using power assistance (pedal assist or throttle) normally.
After First Ride
Charge the battery for approximately 12 hours, not exceeding this duration. Keep the battery plugged in and charging, even if the charger indicator lights turn green and red.
Second Ride
Ride the bike again, using power assistance as desired.
Storage Guide
For optimal battery health and longevity when storing your Viribus Bikes for over two weeks:
1. Charge the battery to around 75% capacity.
2. Power off the battery and store it indoors in a dry, climate-controlled location (50°F–77°F).
3. Check the battery monthly and always use the Viribus Bikes charger.
4. Before the first ride after long-term storage, perform the battery balancing process to ensure efficient operation.
Following these recommendations will help preserve your battery's health and extend its lifespan.

Product Protection
Lock Up Your Bike
All of our bikes have the following anti-theft features:
A locking battery pack that can either be locked onto the frame, or unlocked, removed, and brought with you for charging and safe keeping.
We recommend investing in a quality lock to protect your bike when you're not riding. Check out our Accessories page to see which bike locks you can purchase directly from Viribus Bikes.
Viribus Bikes makes no claims or recommendations on the proper lock hardware or procedures to secure your bike, but we do recommend you take the appropriate precautions to keep your bike safe from theft.
Register and Insure Your Ebike
It’s a good idea to keep your order information, such as your order confirmation and serial number, for your personal records.
Consult your local vehicle registration authority to check if ebike registration and insurance is required in your area. To insure your bike, check with your personal insurance agent to see if they have liability and personal property coverage for you and your bike, or check out velosurance to request a quote from a company that specializes in bike insurance.
We also suggest registering your bike with Bike Index and 529 Garage. Both are free services that store your bike's information in a database that is searchable by police departments and bike shops. This can be helpful if your bike is lost or stolen.
