RBE Series Troubleshooting Guide
1. Battery Doesn’t Work
1.1. Ensure the battery key switch is in the “ON” position.
If it is, press and hold the battery’s power display button to check the status of the indicator light.
If only one red light is on or no lights are illuminated, the battery may be depleted. Charge it for 4–6 hours before use.
If there is no indicator light, switch the battery key to “ON” and retest.
2. Battery Not Charging or Unable to Fully Charge
2.1. After connecting the charger to a power source, observe the charger’s indicator light (assuming the battery has been charging for at least 45 minutes).
If the charger shows a green light before connecting to the battery but turns red after connection, the battery may not be holding a charge. Replace the battery.
If the charger displays a red light even when not connected to the battery, the charger may be faulty. Replace the charger.
If the charger consistently shows a green light (with or without the battery connected), the issue could be a blown battery fuse or the battery may be in a low-power protection state.
Remove and inspect the fuse. If it’s blown, replace it. If intact, the battery may require a zero-volt charger to recover from low-power protection mode.
3. Unable to Charge the Battery
Refer to Section 2 for detailed troubleshooting steps.
4. LCD Display Screen Not Lighting Up
4.1. Verify that the battery key switch is in the “ON” position.
If not, turn it to “ON.”
If it is, press and hold the battery’s power display button to check the indicator light status.
If only one red light is on or no lights appear, the battery is likely drained. Fully charge it before use.
If all power indicator lights are on, press and hold the “M” key on the display panel to see if the screen activates.
If it doesn’t, ensure the wiring harness between the controller and display screen is securely connected.
If connected properly, the display screen or controller may be defective. Replace both.
If not, reconnect the wiring harness securely.
5. Display Screen Lights Up, but Motor Doesn’t Work
5.1. Check the display for error codes.
If an error code is present, resolve it according to the details in Section 8.
If no error code appears, verify that the wiring harness between the controller and motor is securely connected.
Test the motor using pedal-assist mode.
If it works, replace the throttle.
If it doesn’t, replace the controller.
6. Brakes Not Functioning
6.1. Confirm the brake cable is properly attached to the brake lever.
6.2. If the brakes feel too loose, adjust the brake cable tension.
7. Unit Does Not Work
7.1. Check if the display screen powers on.
If the display screen turns on:
Look for error codes on the screen.
If present, address them per Section 8.
If absent, ensure the wiring harness between the controller and motor is secure.
Test the motor in pedal-assist mode.
If successful, replace the throttle.
If unsuccessful, replace the controller.
If the display screen doesn’t turn on:
Verify the battery key switch is in the “ON” position.
If not, switch it to “ON.”
If it is, press and hold the battery’s power display button to check the indicator light.
If only one red light is on or no lights appear, charge the battery fully.
If all indicator lights are on, press and hold the “M” key on the display panel.
If the screen remains off, check the wiring harness connection between the controller and the display screen.
If secure, replace the display screen and controller.
If loose, reconnect it properly.
8. Common Error Codes
8.1. E03: Assist Sensor Malfunction
Check the wiring harness between the assist sensor and controller for a secure connection. If secure, replace the assist sensor.
8.2. E06: Low Battery Voltage
Charge the battery immediately.
8.3. E07: Motor Malfunction
Replace the motorized wheel.
8.4. E08: Throttle Malfunction
Replace the throttle.
8.5. E09: Controller Malfunction
Replace the controller.
8.6. E10: Communication Reception Failure
Ensure the wiring harness between the controller and display screen is secure. If it is, replace the controller.
8.7. E11: Communication Transmission Failure
Verify the wiring harness between the controller and display screen is properly connected. If secure, replace the display screen.
8.8. E12: BMS Communication Failure
Replace the battery.
8.9. E13: Headlight Malfunction
Replace the front light.
9. Handlebars Unable to Control Front Wheel Direction
9.1. Ensure the connecting screws between the handlebars and stem are tightened.
9.2. Check that the long nut between the stem and handlebars is secure and that the handlebars are aligned vertically with the front wheel’s plane.
