Q1 Unable to power on / display screen is not lighting up.
To power on the display screen, press and hold the power button on the instrument panel for 3-5 seconds, as shown in the figure.
If the display screen still doesn't light up after a long press on the power button on the instrument panel, check if the battery has power. Insert the key into the lock and turn it to the "on" position (see the left figure below). Press the battery's power indicator button and observe the power indicator light (see the right figure below). If only one red light is lit, the battery is out of power and needs to be fully charged before use. If two lights are lit, the battery is normal and you need to check for any abnormalities in the wiring harness connecting the controller to the instrument panel. If the wiring harness connection is normal, the instrument panel may need to be replaced.
Q2 Unable to switch to the minimum or maximum gear.
If unable to switch to the maximum gear, use a cross-head screwdriver to rotate the screw on the right side of the derailleur ( H ) until the small cog on the derailleur aligns with the smallest gear on the flywheel. If unable to switch to the minimum gear, use a cross-head screwdriver to rotate the screw on the left side of the derailleur ( L ) until the small gear on the derailleur aligns with the largest cog on the flywheel.
Q3 How to shift gears in manual riding mode?
While pedaling the bicycle, press the button indicated by the red arrow on the shift lever located on the right handlebar. Each press will shift up one gear. To shift down, simply push the lever indicated by the green arrow in the figure below. Pushing it continuously will shift the gear down from the current position to the first.
Q4 The brakes are too loose and not effective.
While squeezing the brake lever, observe if the brake cable at the brake caliper contracts. If the brake cable does not contract, check if the brake lever clamp is properly installed, and if the brake cable is fully seated in the groove, as shown in the figure. If squeezing the brake lever causes the brake cable to contract, it may be that the brakes are too loose and need to be adjusted tighter. Refer to the following video for guidance: Brake Line Adjustment
Q5 The handlebar is too low, how do I adjust the height?
To adjust the height of the handlebar, first, loosen the fixing screws that connect the handlebar stem to the front fork (see the left figure below), then loosen the screws that secure the handlebar to the handlebar stem (see the right figure below). You can now move the handlebar upwards or downwards.
Q6 The battery indicator shows full charge, but the instrument panel shows no power.
(Only applicable to ABE-S series)
Check if the voltage parameter on the display is set to 48 volts. If not, adjust the parameter to 48 volts. Refer to the following video for reference: Voltage Parameter Adjustment
Q7 The display screen shows error code 07 or 08, causing the motor not to start.
It is necessary to check if the wiring harness connector between the motor and the controller is securely connected, and if the connector pins are broken or misaligned. Ensure that the arrows on the two wiring harnesses are completely aligned (see the right figure below). If the wiring harness connections are normal, consider replacing the controller.
Q8 The short chain is prone to slipping.
The short chain may be slipping for the following two reasons:
- The chain is too loose.
Solution: Loosen the four screws securing the front and rear frame, pull back the rear frame while ensuring the chain is tight, then tighten the screws.
- The sprocket on the secondary drive shaft is not in alignment with the sprocket on the rear axle.
Solution: Loosen the screws securing the rear axle sprocket (as shown in the figure below), and move the sprocket on the rear axle left or right to align it with the sprocket on the secondary drive shaft.
Q9 The display can be turned on, but the motor does not start when rotating the throttle or pedaling.
The motor not starting is due to the following:
- The PAS (Pedal Assist System) level is set to 0.
When the PAS level is set to 0, the motor will not start in either throttle or pedal assist mode. The motor will only start when the PAS level is set to any number from 1 to 5. Adjust the number in the red area as shown in the figure below to enable electric riding.
- Controller malfunction or loose wiring connection.
Remove the controller and check for any loose connections between the controller and the motor, controller and display, and throttle handle. Ensure that all wiring harness connectors are securely plugged in or not detached. Reconnect all wiring harness connectors by plugging and unplugging them (the controller is located in the box underneath the battery base). If the motor still does not start after reconnecting, consider replacing the controller.
