Q1 Cannot switch to the minimum or maximum gear.
If you cannot switch to the maximum gear, use a cross-head screwdriver to rotate the screw on the right side of the derailleur ( H ) until the small cog on the derailleur aligns with the smallest gear on the flywheel. If you cannot switch to the minimum gear, use a cross-head screwdriver to rotate the screw on the left side of the derailleur ( L ) until the small cog on the derailleur aligns with the largest gear on the flywheel.
Q2 How to shift gears in manual riding mode?
While pedaling the bicycle, press the button pointed to by the red arrow on the right handlebar shift lever. Each press will increase the gear by one level. To decrease the gear, simply push the lever pointed to by the green arrow in the figure (Pushing it continuously will shift the gear down from the current position to the first).
Q3 The brake is too loose and not effective.
While squeezing the brake lever, observe whether the brake cable at the brake caliper will contract. If the brake cable does not contract, check if the brake lever clamp is properly installed and whether the brake cable has been fully returned to the slot, as shown in the figure. If the brake cable contracts when the brake lever is squeezed, hold the brake lever all the way down and observe whether the wheel can still rotate. If the wheel can still rotate even when the brake lever is fully squeezed, it indicates that the brake cable is too loose. Loosen the screw indicated by the arrow in the figure to the right, pull the brake cable tighter, and then tighten the screw; repeat the above steps until the wheel does not rotate when the brake lever is squeezed.
