At Viribus, we understand that many of our customers cannot keep taking their electric tricycles for professional repair each time there is a problem. Repairs can often be quite costly, frustrating, and time-consuming, and we certainly don’t want that to be your experience riding any Viribus tricycle. This is where adult tricycle troubleshooting comes in.
This guide will point you in the right direction and provide you with some guidance on how to approach certain malfunctions you could face on your Viribus SC5 Fat Tire Electric Tricycle. Make use of these directions, and feel free to come back for reference.
Let's Start With the Display Screen.
We cannot discuss troubleshooting without first discussing the display screen. In case of a malfunction or even a potential malfunction, the display screen quickly sends out a notification to alert you of what is wrong.
You must, therefore, be able to read the notification and understand what it means. You will not be able to do so unless you are familiar with the screen's components.
Components of the Display Screen
The role of the display screen is to show all relevant information relating to your ride and the state of your tricycle. It keeps you up-to-date and well-informed. Here is a list of the important information displayed on the display screen of most Viribus trikes and how you can use them.
MAIN INFORMATION ON THE DISPLAY SCREEN
i. BUTTONS
Pay attention to the three buttons located on the left side of your screen. These buttons directly control what is displayed on the screen. Here are the functions of these buttons: be sure to check them out because their roles may not be so obvious:
ii. DISPLAY PANEL

Can you Switch Display Screens?
Say your display mirror breaks, can you simply switch and have another display monitor installed?
Unfortunately, the answer is no. Display mirrors are really easy to look at, but manufacturers take extra measures to ensure that the display is suited to the features and specifications of the bike in question. There is no universal display screen that can go on every tricycle. The only way forward if your display cannot be fixed is to contact Viribus Customer Service, and they will help sort out the issue.
can you replace the monitor with another one? No, it's not universal, the manufacturer's code is different.
ERROR CODES: WHAT TO DO WHEN YOU SEE THEM
An error code is simply a language used by the system on your bike to communicate that something has gone wrong and help you diagnose and resolve the issue. Normally, when an error code pops on your screen, it is usually accompanied by a brief message to give you more context. If not, here is a guide to help you figure out what is wrong.
Unfortunately, most of the above problems are system errors which require professional expertise to fix. The good news that it is much more likely you’ll come across problems with the hardware, which you have some power to solve.
SOME PROBLEMS YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO SOLVE
i. Charging Suddenly Fails.
This is usually a common problem with several vehicles and other electronics that need a charger. Do not panic, and do not jump to conclusions. First, take the following measures to assess the problem.
- It may be the power source: Ensure the charger is firmly connected to the battery’s charging port and a working power source.
- Maybe the Battery Needs Revival: Revive the battery in an over-low-power state. The following steps will show you how:
- Reinstall the battery onto your tricycle.
- Raise the motorized front wheel.
- Run the motor using the throttle for a while.
- Stop the motor, disconnect the battery, and restart charging.
If both steps fail and the battery remains inactive, then something serious might have gone wrong. You might have to replace the charger or battery with a new identical one.
ii. The Throttle, PAS, Push Assist, or Cruise Control Suddenly Stop Working.
- It might be the battery: Ensure the battery is seated in place.
- Ensure the display panel is already on.
- Ensure such control is not disabled.
iii. You Forget Your Password
- If no new password is already set, simply enter the default 0000.
- Contact customer service or your local dealer or contractor for professional assistance.
iv. Bluetooth Connection Fails
Ensure Bluetooth is unlocked on the display panel and active on your mobile device. Make sure the app you are using is BIKEGO. Be sure to log into a valid BIKEGO account. Select higher settings in the BT RSSI Level menu.
Having understood how these functions work, it is time to go out there and enjoy your rides, knowing that you will not be clueless in case something goes wrong. You might also be interested in a more detailed introduction to your SC5 Fat Tire Tricycle.
